I don’t do shady deals – Ibrahim Mahama

Business magnate and brother of President John Mahama, Ibrahim Mahama has said he does not meddle in “shady deals”.

According to him, rumours that he is taking advantage of his brother’s ascension to the Presidency to win state contracts and amass wealth are baseless and malicious.

Speaking to Accra-based Okay FM Wednesday, the Chief Executive Officer of engineering firm, Engineers and Planners (E&P) stated that allegations by the opposition New Patriotic Party that he is involved in the controversial AMERI deal is shocking.

“Governments will go and governments will come but Engineers and Planners will still be here. The Minority who are now accusing me in this AMERI deal knows me better than my own brother’s party and they know I am not involved in it. I’m not interested in it. If I were involved, they would have seen me in parliament.

“…The truth is not in this country; I will not win the elections for the Minority because I don’t do shady deals. In everything, people just try to drag Ibrahim’s name into it but I am not the one who will be involved in everything just because my brother is the President.

“I have spoken to some of the minority members about why they keep mentioning my name and they say it is just for the politics…the problem with this country is the politics; we play politics with everything and so people are careful before doing anything for the country.
