Hon. Dzifa Gomashie Donates To Children With Cancer At Korlu Bu

Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Dzifa Gomashie on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 donated items to the Children’s Oncology Cancer Unit of The Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. The veteran actress and queenmother visited the unit following numerous calls by officials for the public to come to their aid.

Dzifa Gomashie in an interview with Zionfelix.com after the donation said she had to put smiles on the faces of the children due to the hardship they go through daily.

“There is a young nurse there called Adele who has the heart of an angel. She’s always talking to me about what she goes through on daily basis with these children who have cancer and tumor and the fact that the situation is so bad.

When she told me about it, I thought of helping because I can never be a nurse. I’m afraid of sickness, blood, seeing people in agony so I thought I had to find a way to support her work. One thing I realised is that she served these kids with such humility and joy so I had to support her work and these children.

We sent all those items just to lighten the children’s faces since it was just two days after Valentine. It was a season of love and I wanted to also show the children love.”

Items Hon. Dzifa Gomashie donated to the Children’s Oncology Cancer Unit included toiletries, teddy bears, food supplements and other materials.

It was reported on Tuesday, February 16 that Wonder Kpe, a cancer-stricken boy from the Children’s Oncology Cancer Unit at Korle-Bu who demanded to sit in a plane before his predicted death had passed on.
