The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) together with Hon Abigail Elorm Mensah, the aspiring NDC parliamentary candidate for Fanteakwa South Constituency, have donated assorted relief items to people of Bososu in the Fanteakwa District of the Eastern Region, whose houses got flooded due to recent downpour.
The items include mattresses, rice , sugar , blankets, plastic buckets ,plates, mosquito coils, Insecticide Treated Mosquito Nets, and several others.
Hon Elorm Mensah who led team to distribute the items, sensitized the people on human activities that result in flooding whenever there is a heavy downpour.
Again, she urged the people of Bosuso to desist from building on waters ways, dumping of refuse in gutters and drains and also encouraged them to construct gutters around buildings as these are some contributing factors to flooding whenever there was rainstorm.
She then assured the victims of her support by improving their drainage systems.
The District Chief Executive, Mr Abass Fuseini Sbaabe, who assisted the parliamentary candidate and NADMO to deliver the items, sympathized with the victims and also assured them of more Government support.
“What we are giving you now, is just for you to manage for the time-being, we will come back again with more support , as-well as look at solving the problem for you , so in future you dont face same problems” he added.
