Here’s what Nana Addo says he has done in his first 6 months

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Tuesday, January 18, 2017 met with journalists of the country at the Flagstaff House in Accra after six months in office.

The president faced a barrage of questions from journalists in his first media encounter.

But even before the media began asking their questions, the president outlined what he has been able to achieve so far in office.

Below are some of the achievements:
Agriculture
Planting For Food and Jobs has registered 185, 000 farmers out of the 200,000 target
Eighty-thousand and thirty-seven (80,037) tonnes of fertiliser have been distributed to farmers enrolled on the programme.
Thirty-five thousand, seven hundred and forty-seven metric tonnes of seedlings have been supplied to farmers.
The one-village-one-dam-scheme is taking off in the three northern regions with the rehabilitation of existing ones that are in sad states of disrepair.
Extension officers are being employed to provide hands-on support to farmers.
Government is supplying over 72,000 insecticides to fight the fall army worm attack on farms.
Illegal Mining
The fight against galamsey is yielding results as some perpetrators are being dealt with. Moves have also been initiated to restore degraded lands.
Finance
The Asempa Budget has provided a 50 million dollar stimulus package for the revival of distressed companies. At the end of June 2017, 285 applications had been received. 118 of these applications have been screened, of which 80 have been adjudged eligible for various stimulus packages.
An amount of 100 million dollars has been allocated towards the establishment of district enterprises, 1-District, 1-Factory.
The National Entrepreneurship and Innovations Plan has been launched to help start-ups.

Processes are underway to ensure that every Ghanaian has access to good and quality data and voice connectivity
Automation of tax and business registration systems are yielding dividends.
Sanitation and Health
Government is meeting with sanitation providers to settle huge debts owed them to facilitate the evacuation of refuse.
Nursing and teacher training allowances have been restored.
Political Vigilantism
The law is taking its course on political vigilante groups including the Invincible Forces without any political interference.
Corruption
Processes are underway to ensure the prosecution of custom officials and clearing agents who have been allegedly responsible for the unlawful loss of GHC1.2 billion to the central treasury.
Special prosecutor office to be introduced soon as the Bill has been correctly gazetted.

Local development
208 out of 216 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDCEs) have been approved so far across the country.
The administration has signalled its intentions to honour the petitions that have been received for the creation of potentially six new regions.
Dumsor (erratic power supply) has improved.
