‘Govt’s delegation to Dubai waste of tax payers’ money’ – Blakk Rasta

Reggae show host cum musician, Blakk Rasta has fired salvos at government for ‘wasting’ tax payers’ money by flying ‘high powered delegation’ to Dubai to get the CEO of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah, extradited to Ghana.

The comments come as Nana Appiah Mensah popularly known as NAM1 is said to have been arrested in Dubai and government subsequently flying top officials there to get him extradited.

NAM1’s extradition would see him face the law as he is alleged for defrauding by false pretenses. Customers of his gold dealership company, Menzgold, have mounted pressure on him to get investments owed them paid.

Speaking on his Taxi Driver Show on Accra based Zylofon FM, today, Blakk Rasta said the delegation to Dubai could have been represented by Ghana’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Alhaji Ramadan, so to cut down cost.

“They are going to Dubai; they are going to sleep in hotels. If they don’t sleep in hotels, at least, they will sleep somewhere. Wherever they sleep will be at the tax payers’ cost. The tax payer is going to pay for the flight, the tax payer is going to pay for the food they eat there for the number of days there [Dubai],” he said.

Blakk Rasta expressed shock that government is ‘dramatizing’ the Menzgold saga, indicating that it was unimaginable for the delegation of top officials to go chase a “disabled man who cannot run a 100 meter race.”

“If NAM1 has been arrested, what is the Ghana office in Dubai doing? We want to dramatize everything in Rambo style … and at the end of the day we cry we are broke [as a country],” he said.

Blakk Rasta also threatened to mention names of some powerful men who instigated NAM1’s arrest in Dubai.
