Gov’t figures show Akufo-Addo delivered only 29.4% of manifesto promises

Available figures have revealed the Akufo-Addo government has delivered only 29.4 per cent of its campaign promises after three years in office.

In what some critics described as a smart move to score political points, the government lump together the promises delivered and those being delivered to give itself 78 per cent score.

The New Patriotic Party in its 2016 manifesto, promised to deliver some 388 promises in all sectors of the economy.

A careful analysis of official figures released by the Vice President Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia at the Town Hall Meeting and Result Fair in Kumasi Tuesday showed the government which has just 10 months to end its first term of four years, has delivered only 114 promises.

This represents 29.4 per cent of the total promises.

Currently, a total of 189 promises representing 48.7 per cent are being delivered by the government per the figures which have since been published on the government’s special website tracking its manifesto promises.

Eighty-five other promises, representing 21.9 per cent, are yet to be implemented by the government.
