Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia has said the government will build a new hospital in Tamale and upgrade the 37 military hospital to meet modern medical challenges.
The new hospital, he said, is expected to cater for the medical needs of military personnel in the northern sector of the country.
The vice president made the comments when he addressed the graduation parade held for 99 Special Medical Intake III at the Ghana Military Academy (GMA) at Teshie in Accra last Friday on behalf of president Nana Akufo-Addo.
“We also intend to complete the third phase of the 37 military hospital project as well as upgrade its equipment to meet modern medical challenges,” he said.
The vice president added that the Akufo-Addo administration is determined to pursue policies that will enhance the well being of the personnel of the Armed Forces.
“I wish to reiterate government will continue to equip and train al the three services of the Armed Forces to boost their operational efficiency,” he said.
