Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry in charge of Trade, Murtala Muhammed has raised concerns about the high rate of importation of goods into the country.
According to him, the country spends over one billion dollars annually on the importation of poultry and pharmaceutical supplies.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the African Art and Culture Development Center in Accra, Mr Muhammed said government has introduced direct foreign policies that will lead towards reducing the country’s import dependency.
