Government driving oil, gas and power industry forward – Buah

Minister of Petroleum Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah has given the assurance that bold steps have been taken to drive the oil, gas and power industry forward and emphasised Ghana was on its way to prosperity with its oil wealth.

Mr Buah made the comment when he opened the 2016 Ghana Summit – Oil, Gas & Power event recently held in Accra.

He said the summit was an important milestone in the country’s march towards the acquisition of critical skills, knowledge, and competencies that would enable Ghana to benefit from the oil and gas industry.

Minister of State for Private Sector Development and Public Private Partnerships, Dr Rashid Pelpuo, who represented President John Dramani, said it was government’s hope that the summit would affect government policy in the oil and gas sectorhttp://ghanapoliticsonline.com

Michael Aryeetey, Chief Operating Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), who spoke on behalf of Alex Mould, the CEO of GNPC, stated: “Energy has become a national priority. GNPC is willing and ready to engage with stakeholders in the sector.”
