Government Assurances committee invites Power Minister over Dumsor

The Minister of Power is billed to appear before parliament over the protracted power crisis that has bedeviled Ghanaians for over three years.

The Government Assurances committee of parliament has invited the Power Minister to open up on progress made so far to ending the load shedding he promised to solve by the end of this year.

The timeline on ending the energy crisis is 2015, according to the Pru East legislator,Dr Kwabena Donkor,

The Chairman of the committee, Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah in an interview with Accra-based Citi FM said the committee is mandated to ensure it follows up on the promises made by the Minister.

The Committee on Government Assurances pursues all assurances, promises and undertakings given by Ministers at Plenary from time to time. It reports to the House on the extent to which such assurances have been carried out.
