God will not forgive Nana if he fails to jail NDC officials – Wontumi

Almost every district in the Ashanti Region is indebted to the tune of GH¢1.5 million being monies stolen from the accounts of the various District Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) prior to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) exit from office on January 7, 2017.

Outspoken Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, believes God will not forgive President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo if he fails to hunt and jail corrupt officials in the past administration who wreak havoc to the finances of the state for personal gain.

“They have stolen a lot of money from the state coffers and as we speak, every district in Ashanti Region is indebted to the tune of GH¢1.5 million. These are monies they looted when they realised they had lost the elections in 2016”, he revealed.

He said the open thievery by members of the past administration should not be swept under the carpet insisting that they must be punished for their deeds to serve as a deterrent to others.

“NDC has caused a lot of destruction to the finances of the country, but the NPP and Ghanaians are atoning for their sins. We are urging all DCEs in the region to make public the thievery witnessed under the NDC. The way they have stolen from the state, it is pathetic … we need to put everything together and ensure that we deal ruthlessly with them”, he suggested.

Chairman Wontumi said Ghanaians who reposed much confidence in the President will be very unhappy if in the midst of all these financial scandals he fails to take action and deal ruthlessly with the individuals involved.

“They cannot steal our money and go and enjoy with their families and friends. They will have to pay for their actions”, he insisted.
