President John Mahama has said that he believes God has already chosen the next leader for Ghana ahead of the 2016 elections.
He said this at a mini rally in Ayirebi in the Eastern Region. President Mahama is on a campaign tour in the Eastern Region to share his transformation message with the chiefs and people in the region.
“As we speak, God has made up His mind already. He knows the winner of the elections already. As I always say, when I wake up in the morning, my prayer is let thy will be done. That’s the greatest prayer.”
The president said that because of this belief he holds he is surprised when the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) carries himself around as if he has already won the December 7 polls.

“Power rests in the hands of God, He decides who becomes a leader. So when I see somebody (Nana Addo) carrying himself as an already elected President, I say if God says he won’t make you a President, you can move heaven and earth you will still not be President,” President Mahama said.
The President in his address further promised to build an ultra-modern hospital facility for the community if he re-elected after the December polls. This is in fulfilment of a request made by the chiefs of the area.
President Mahama is expected to end his tour today (Tuesday).
