Give my husband a chance – Mrs Akufo-Addo

Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo, wife of the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has appealed to Ghanaians to give her husband, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the opportunity to steer the affairs of the country come November 2016.

She said Nana Akufo-Addo is an honest, incorruptible, and hardworking person who has the interest of the country at heart, and when given the opportunity, can turn the fortunes of Ghana around.http://ghanapoliticsonline.com/

“At this critical stage in our country where people are fast losing hope in politicians to address the current economic crisis and deal with corruption, Ghana needs a leader who is honest decisive, incorruptible, and competent, to improve the lives of the citizenry,” Mrs Akufo-Addo said when she joined the NPP Parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso North Constituency in the Greater Accra region Amidu Mohammed Zakari and other party constituency executives to commission a bridge at Brukutu Lane, a suburb of Newton Kwatstru.

“Nana Akufo Addo is running for the third time. Help him to change Ghana for the better by voting for him massively in the coming elections. He is my husband, and I know what he can do,” she said.

The bridge will help the locals cross to the other side to engage in economic and social activities.

Following the failure of local government authorities to respond to appeals to renovate the bridge, the parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso North Constituency, stepped in and with assistance from Mrs. Akufo-Addo, had it renovated.

Mrs. Akufo-Addo used the opportunity to urge parents to advise their children to be wary of corrupt politicians who will seek to entice them with monies, in order to recruit them to engage in violence, in the upcoming elections.

She said the current economic hardship which has led to high unemployment and school dropout rates has made a large section of the youth vulnerable to the entrapments of some mischievous politicians who will like to recruit them to engage in violence in the November 7 general elections.

On his part, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso North, Amidu Zakari, called on the Electoral Commissioner, Charlotte Osei to bring some confidence in the works of the commission by implementing the recommendations of its panel to audit the voters’ register through validation, which requires all registered voters who are interested in voting on November 7, 2016.
