Ghana’s GDP hits 4.9% in first quarter

Provisional figures show that the Gross Domestic Product, GDP, hits 4.9 percent for the first quarter of 2016.

This rate compares to the 4.5 percent seen in the same quarter last year.

Announcing the GDP figures in Accra, the Government Statistician, Dr. Philomena Nyarko, said the growth in the economy continues to be driven by the services sector which contributed 60.1 percent to the national average.http://ghanapoliticsonline.com

This was followed by industry and agricultural sectors which saw the lowest growth.
