Nana Akufo-Addo’s hopes of hoodwinking celebrities to boost his 2016 campaign has been dashed as credible information reaching GhanaPoliticsonline.com indicates that some Ghanaian celebrities and key stakeholders in the creative arts industry who were officially invited for an evening encounter with the NPP flag bearer failed to turn up.
According to a close source close to twice failed presidential candidate most of the stars and stakeholders were invited via whatsapp with an MTN and Vodafone numbers without the invitee identifying and giving proper reasons why they should honor the invitation.
The informant added that , stars like Yvonne Nelson, Jackie Appiah , Van Vicker, Nadia Buari , Sarkodie among others were all invited but they did not show up at the event.
GhanaPoliticsonline.com rep who attended the evening encounter,reported that, apart from the veterans and few industry people, none of the current stars show up to listen to the NPP flag bear’s plans for the creative art industry .
Reports are that due to the low attendance and the fact that the likes of Sarkodie and others failed to attend the programme, the media were prevented from taking pictures and videos.
As to why they did not show up , One of the celebrities we spoke to mentioned that, he did not see any serious and the need to attend the event so have to turn it down.
“I was sent a poster and a note that “You are please invited to an evening encounter with Nana Addo” the celebrity said.
