Ghana Is Currently Sick, We Need To Swallow Bitter Pills To Get Better – Kofi Adams

National Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams is pleading with Ghanaians to keep faith with President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC government in the face of the current tariff increment.

According to him, the policies of the Mahama-led administration are not meant to punish Ghanaians but rather to prepare the grounds for better future as so many infrastructural developments which have been accomplished are propensity for a better tomorrow.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Kofi Adams admitted that Ghanaians are currently taking bitter pills but assured they are meant to foster better days ahead.

“The NDC government has done a lot of hard work to put the country on the track of relief, but in this process there are bound to be difficult moments and the most affected are those of us in government as we are in an election year,” he stated.

“Ghana is currently sick and we need to swallow bitter pills to get better, and we should know that the more we swallow the pills the more bitter we feel but they are meant to make us feel better…we are rather giving a better future to Ghanaians by passing through this ordeal now,” he assured.

He however urged Ghanaians not to consider changing the NDC government for another political party on the promises of sweet policies; indicating that Ghanaians will give up this endurance the moment the country is at the point of recovering from the hardship.

He reminded Ghanaians that President Mahama and his government have no intention to make the citizens go through hardship, but added that Ghana has gotten to a stage where the nation should take further responsibility to come out completely from the hardship.

“We will plead with Ghanaians not to make a mistake because some people may say our policies are not good and it is intentional, but it is something we have to go through to better our lives very soon . . . we are not punishing Ghanaians but rather preparing a better future for them,” he stressed.
