Ghana And Turkey Sign Five Bilateral Agreements

Ghana and Turkey have signed bilateral agreements in the areas of Investment, Communications, Sports, Energy and Natural Resources.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hannah Tetteh signed the MOU’s on Energy and Natural Resources together with her Turkish Counterpart.http://ghanapoliticsonline.com/

The Bilateral agreement on Communications was signed by the Chief Executive of the National Communications Authority, William Tevie, while the Minister of Youth and Sports, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye signed the MOU on Sports.

President Mahama and his Turkish Counterpart, Recep Erdogan witnessed the signing ceremony.http://ghanapoliticsonline.com/

At a News Conference, President Mahama said the agreements would provide the platform for further collaboration between the two countries.

He also pledged Ghana’s assistance in the fight against terrorism.

Turkish President Recep Erdogan, who spoke through an interpreter, said his government will ensure that the Memoranda of Understanding will yield the needed benefits.

During the visit of Turkey’s former President, Abdullah Gull to Ghana in 2011, the two countries signed agreements in the areas of military cooperation, health and medical sciences.
