GES Boss denies provisional WASSCE results is worse

The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, Jacob Kor has described as false the 2016 provisional WASSCE results released by the West African Examinations Council, WAEC, as being the worst in recent times.

He, therefore, dared anybody who doubts the figures to go to WAEC to verify.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the National Cadet Corps Leadership Training Camp 2016 at the Asuansi Secondary Technical Institute in the Central Region, Mr. Kor congratulated all teachers and schools management authorities on a yeoman’s job done.

He said education is a collective responsibility and any suggestions to improve on it is welcomed and not the politicisation the results have assumed.

The Director-General of the GES, who compared results of last year and this year said there has been a remarkable improvement, as a result of government interventions and other innovations being pursued by the GES with the support of the government.

Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur who agreed with Mr. Kor urged the students to continue to be disciplined as next year’s results will even be better than this year’s.
