Statement read by Salifu Maase (On behalf of ‘Montie 3’) on

Good morning dear listeners of Montie FM and Radio Gold and all who may be listening to us across the country. Good morning to all our friends and well-wishers. And good morning to all our fellow broadcasters and presenters.

This morning we were released after a month incarceration. First at
Nsawam and finally at Akuse prisons. We give praise and thanks to the Almighty for keeping us safe during our imprisonment and giving our
wives and families strength to cope with the situation we found ourselves in.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama for graciously
exercising his constitutional powers under Article 72 of the Constitution in our favour in remitting the remaining custodial sentence imposed on us
recently. We would also like to thank the Council of State profusely for their role in our release.

Let us restate our sincerest apologies to Her Ladyship the Chief Justice,
Justices of the Supreme Court and the Bench in general for the
unfortunate and regrettable conduct, which was rightfully condemned by all Ghanaians.

The past month has been a difficult one for us and none of
us would ever wish to find himself anywhere near that situation again.
That being said, we have learnt our lesson and would like to reiterate
President Mahama’s call to our fellow media practitioners and all who
appear on our platforms to take a cue from what happened to us and be
circumspect in our utterances.

We agree that we have a responsibility to our country to uphold peace in this election year and respect institutions
of state. We will continue to practice our professions mindful of all these.

We would also like to thank the Management and Board of Directors of
Network Broadcasting Company Limited, our fellow workers, our lawyers
and the many Ghanaians who found grace and mercy in their hearts to fight for and stand by us in our time of difficulty. We will forever be indebted to you our fellow Ghanaians for your dedicated support for our
petition to His Excellency the President, which has yielded this fruitful result.

To our family and friends, your visits and prayers were very much
appreciated.

We cannot leave here without expressing our profound gratitude to the Prison Officers for their care. To our fellow inmates, you will not be
forgotten. We thank each and every one who consoled with us and
encouraged us to stay strong.

Thank you and God bless you all.
