Former MP for Tamale North Alhaji Abubakari Sumani dead

The former National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament for Tamale North, Abukari Sumani, has been reported dead.

He passed away on Saturday but the cause of his death is yet to be made public.

Family members of the ex-MP are yet to communicate with the public.
He lost the NDC’s primaries to represent the Tamale North constituency to Alhassan Suhuyini.

Tributes have been pouring in for the late MP across the political divide.

A member of the New Patriotic Party communications team in the Northern Region, Akbar Yussif Rohullah Khomeini, wrote: “RIP Hon Abukari Sumani. You served Tamale and Dagbon to the best of your ability. Journey well Sir.

“We were political competitors, but above it, you were my advisor, mentor and a great inspiration to me. You are no more, but your words live with me, and I will never forget. Uncle, as I used to call you, Rest In Peace and may Allah receive you in Jannatul firdaus. Ameen,” the deputy Minister of Energy, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam said,

The Mayor of Tamale, Musah Superior, in a statement said: “I have learnt with deep shock the death of the former Member of Parliament for Tamale North constituency and former Ghana Ambassador to the Republic of Saudi Arabia, Alhaji Abukari SUMANI. May his Soul rest in peace”.
