Flagstaff House “boys” collecting monies from NDC to undermine President Akufo Addo (Audio)

New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament of Assin Central, Kennedy Agyepong, has accused some faceless individuals at the seat of government, Flagstaff House, of collecting unspecified amount of monies from some elements of the opposition National Democratic Congress, to undermine President Akufo Addo’s administration.

Mr. Agyepong, known for his fiery way of speaking, said these “boys” have hatched series of plans to make sure the government does not have the space to operate, starting with the latest contaminated fuel saga at the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST), whose Managing Director, Alfred Obeng Boateng, has come under fire for alleged involvement in the sale of over 5 million litres of offspec fuel to two companies, Zup Oil and Movenpinaa.

Speaking to Accra based Asempa Fm on the Eko Sii Sen political show program, Mr. Agyepong, who sounded angry and, at some points, used unpalatable words on other persons, said he will not sit and allow corrupt persons in the government to use their penchant for money to destroy the government.

“NPP folks are undermining their own party but will not allow anybody to bring the party ( NPP) down through their corrupt practices. I am saying for them to solve it now,” he fumed. “This is what they have done to Alfred Obeng….they are recording our men.”

The offspec fuel saga has led to the establishment of an eight member committee by the Energy Ministry to investigate the matter and report to it.

The Minority in Parliament are also asking for the MD to be interdicted in order to ensure transparency in the investigations. They claimed the dubious sale of the fuel has resulted in a 14.25 million cedis financial loss to the state, an accusation BOST has categorically dismissed, describing the statement as “baseless and unfounded.”

“The Minority’s assertion that the MD of BOST should be interdicted is baseless and unfounded. It is a political plan to divert the new MD’s attention from dealing with the rot of his predecessor, Mr. Kingsley Kwame Awuah-Darko, which has left BOST with a debt close to $300,000,000.”

Mr. Agyepong said what some elements in the party are doing will thwart the presidential ambition of the current vice president, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, and are therefore working assiduously to ensure the party goes into opposition in the next elections.

“They lied and we lost the elections in 2008,” he said, adding; “ we are repeating the same mistakes. I am not a minister for anyone to sack me- I will speak the truth till I die.”

He also warned those subtly issuing threats to either collapse his business to be on the lookout because he is not one to give in to intimidation. He said those working to undermine his businesses should be ready because he will not give in to their threats, because he will not sit still.

Mr. Agyepong also revealed contracts are being given to members of the NDC and he cited his failed attempt to bid for a contract from the National Identification Authority which was given to a known member of the opposition party, but he is still watching from afar.

In a related development Senyo Hosi, Chief Executive of Ghana Chamber of Oil Distributors, has denied allegation he is part of a plot to undermine the current BOST MD. He said there is no truth in the allegation.
