Father of three Children burnt to death at Nkwanta transferred to Korle Bu

The father of the three children who were burnt to death at Nkwanta in the Volta Region, Kwesi Bediako has been transferred to the Korle-Bu-Teaching Hospital following severe burns he sustained.

The Krachi Divisional Police Commander, Superintendent Kwame Nkrumah Akumia in an interview, said the fire was not started by the wife, but rather one of the children who was playing with a match when the father was selling some of the fuel to a customer.

The Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service, Billy Anaglatey, says it is unlawful for anyone to keep large quantities of inflammable materials at home.

According to him, there is a limitation as to the quantity that is permissible to be kept at home.

Mr Anaglate was speaking on the fire outbreak that ravaged three houses at Nkwanta in the Volta Region killing three children in the process.

Mr Anaglate said the service is going to intensify public education on how to keep such materials at home.

He was however, quick to add that the service will confiscate such products and arrest those found to be keeping large quantities of inflammable chemicals and substances in
