Farmers urge Ghanaians to vote against Akufo-Addo for his mischief and disrespect against them on farmer’s day

Nana addo farmers

Section of Ghanaian farmers from accross Ghana have threatened to vote against flagbearer of opposition- New Patriotic Party, Nana Akufo-Addo come December 7 2016 over what they described as  “mischievous concoction of untruths” to deceive them into voting for him. They have described the intent of Akufo-Addo as “disrespectful and a slight ” against farmers and Ghanaians.

Speaking to one Cocoa farmer, Michael Akyea from Akyem Tafo in the Eastern Region, he posited that “aside farmers day been marked as an occasion where our hardwork throughout the farming season is recognized and commended;  we are enlightened on the trends in market, value chain, revenue projections and opportunities. In spite of this, an instance where a flagbearer of New Patriotic party Nana Akufo-Addo, seeking our mandate to make him President, deliberately engages in an unpleasantness where he mischievously churns out unrealistic, abnormal and false data and information regarding our sector in a desperate attempt to mislead we the farmers and Ghanaians, of whom he seeks to lead, then that is quite disturbing and poses danger.”

Another farmer, Opanyin Kwesi Antoh from Sekyere-Odumase in the Ashanti Region described Nana Akufo-Addo as “disrespectful and irresponsible” for releasing a false statement on the occasion of farmers Day. The farmer described Akufo-Addo as a “dishonest and an insincere” person, noting that “the highest form of disrespect towards us, as farmers and our toil is this deliberate act of misrepresentation of facts about our sector by Akufo-Addo. This shows Akufo-Addo does not have any sense of responsibility for our sector as farmers, hence the reason he chose to disrespect us by throwing old statements at us on our great day, farmers day. Even in his manifesto, there is nothing to show as his plans for our sectors.”
