Elmina Fish Plant to Create 100s of Jobs – Mr Felix Kwakye Ofosu

The Government of Ghana says the fish processing plant under construction at Elmina in the Central Region will provide hundreds of direct and indirect jobs for Ghanaians when completed.

A Deputy Minister of Communication, Mr Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has said the plant, which is nearing completion, will help reduce losses incurred by fisherfolk in the Central Region and nearby areas.

In a Facebook post on Monday August 15, Mr Kwakye Ofosu said: “[These] are pictures from a 100tonne-per-day fish processing plant nearing completion at Elmina in the Central Region. It will offer a modern environment for the processing and storage of fish to avert spoilage and its attendant losses to our fisherfolk. The plant will lead to the creation of hundreds of direct and indirect jobs along the fishing value chain.”
