The Ministry of Education has warned heads of schools and parents against conniving with fraudsters to compromise the integrity of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) which begins today.
Four hundred and sixty one thousand and twelve pupils are expected to sit for the examinations this year.
The papers will be written at one thousand 598 centres with supervision and invigilation provided solely by the GES.
The Director General of GES, Jacob Kor said the Service together with the Ministry of Education have tabled new measures to prevent examination leakage this year.
This follows widespread leakages in the 2015 BECE which led to the cancellation of five papers.
Mr. Kor said measures will be strictly enforced right from where question papers are kept to distribution and writing centres.
Mr. Kor also revealed that a new software, known as the Item Differentia Profile, IDP has been developed by the West African Examinations Council to help detect and expose those who engage in examination malpractice.
Mr. Kor said an arrangement has been concluded with the Ghana Police Service and the BNI to help provide effective security and quality control monitoring activities throughout the period of examinations.
