Dzifa Attivor Would Not Retract Comments Today or Tomorrow – Twum Boafo

The Executive Secretary of the Ghana Free Zones Board, Kwadwo Twum Boafo is pointing at what he says is deep-seated hypocrisy among sections of the clergy in Ghana.

He is amazed at how a section of the clergy is quick to join the fray in talking down issues when they affect the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) negatively but turn deaf, dumb and blind when even worse matters emerge from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) front.

The Chairman of the National Peace Council, Rev. Emmanuel Asante on Tuesday called on former Transport Minister, Dzifa Attivor to retract a claim attributed to her to the effect that the NPP does not deserve Voltarian votes because the party has a history of selectively persecuting people from the region.

But Twum Boafo said the former minister would not retract the comments today or tomorrow as it represents the truth. Besides, he said when worse things have been uttered by NPP followers, not as much as a whimper is heard from the likes of Rev. Asante.

“Don’t be surprised if your favourite pastor does not go to heaven”, he pointed out, saying that assuming the import of what Mrs Attivor said is what is being attributed to her, “Is it more dangerous than importing mercenaries into this country? And let me also tell you something – the NPP wants to cover up the fact that Nana Akufo-Addo has sent people to go and beat up Baah-Acheamfour in a radio station in Kumasi.” http://ghanapoliticsonline.com

He said “They also want to cover up the gargantuan exposé which has been done by no less a person than Paul Afoko himself which is in AfricaWatch today… what Paul Afoko put out in AfricaWatch is one of the most profound things to ever happen in Ghana politics. Paul Afoko said in that article and if you read it you will see it – that when he became chairman, he sought to discipline Kennedy Agyapong and he was told by no less a person than Nana Addo himself and Freddy Blay that Ken Agyapong was a gem, – a gem, a diamond, he was emerald, he was sapphire, he was a gem – so are you surprised that Kennedy Agyapong went to say the things he said? And when he was put before court, the same people who collect goats to release armed robbers released him, and where was the Peace Council then, where was Rev Asante?”

“Please! We were in this country when Nana Addo went to Hohoe to go and tell the people of Hohoe that why do they vote one-way, ask them he went to Kyebi (and) ask them if he went to ask the people why they vote one-way? We were in this country when Nana Addo went to the same Hohoe and told them that Woyome had stolen money and when he stole the money he brought it there. Were we not all of us in this country when Victor Selormey was left to die in jail? And as I said, how many times have we not heard Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo standing on a platform and saying “wei nom yebe jail won, yebe jail won (we will jail these people, we will jail them)’, how many times have you not heard him? Has Emmanuel Asante not heard him?”

“If they want NPP to win elections, everybody has one vote, they should go and vote and vote for NPP but the Ghanaian public know the difference, they are not going to vote for a tyrant. Listen, go and read what Paul Afoko has put in AfricaWatch and find out who brought those Serbians to this country, Rev Asante should go and read that thing and find out who brought the Serbians to this country, who paid for it and what they came to do at a hotel in Achimota, hypo, hypocrisy, hypocritical hypocrisy…”
