‘Dumsor’ is back – Deputy Energy Minister confirms

The Ministry of Energy Mr. William Owuraku Aidoo has somewhat admitted that ‘dumsor’ is back and they are working hard to restore full energy.

Speaking in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Deputy Minister of Energy, apologized for the power interruptions [dumsor] currently being experienced in some parts of the country in recent times

“We apologize for the inconvenience…the engineers are working hard, and hopefully, by 1st of March, the power cuts will stop,” he said on Kasapa FM.

He explained that a major repair works on the gas pipeline from Nigeria to Ghana are the cause of the power interruptions [dumsor].


In a news some angry customers of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in Ashanti regional capital Kumasi are demanding a timetable for power rationing that has been ongoing in the region for some weeks.
Residents in communities in the region however continue to complain about unannounced power cuts which last between 6 and 8 hours daily.
But according to Mr. William Owuraku Aidoo ‘dumsor’ will end on 1st of March 2020.
