Dr. Ibn Chambas Calls For Strengthening Of Security Agencies For Credible Polls

The Head of the UN Office for West Africa and the Sahel, UNOWAS, Dr. Mohammed Ibn Chambas, has asked actors in the electoral process to ensure peaceful and credible elections come 7th December, 2016.

He mentioned institutions such as the Judiciary, the Police and other security agencies to be strengthened to accomplish their mandate and also ensure neutrality in the process.

Speaking at a colloquium on Peaceful Election in Accra, Dr. Chambas also called on civil society, religious leaders and traditional authorities to assume their role in this national endeavour.
