Don’t Force Presidential candidates To Declare Health Status – Dr Edward Mahama

The flagbearer of PNC, Dr Edward Mahama says it is morally and ethically proper for a Presidential candidate to declare his or her heath status if one so wishes.

He however dismissed the idea of the passage of a law to compel Presidential candidates to disclose their health status as proof of their ability to serve.

Dr Mahama had reservations about politicians who campaign on the health of their opponents.

Meanwhile, a representative of NGO’s in Health, Gabriel Benako disagrees with the public disclosure of the health status of Presidential candidates.

He said this is against the Patience Charter of the World Health Organisation and is an inhumane practice.
