DKM Manager Gets Dce Nomination, Victims Protest

Victims of the DKM microfinance scandal in the Brong Ahafo Region are angrily protesting the nomination of Alexander Gyan as DCE for Kintampo South.

The victims who described his nomination as shocking and disrespectful, said Mr Gyan was the manager of ‘God is Love’ , an unregistered microfinance company that duped hundreds of people in the Brong Ahafo Region.

According to an angry resident in Kintampo, the nomination of Alexander Gyan is an insult to them as victims of the the DKM scandal because the then Opposition NPP made them believe that it was NDC officials that are behind the operations of DKM & God is Love. “this nomination by Nana Addo is an endorsement of the fraud that has left us depressed, it has exposed the lies, I regret voting against Mahama because of DKM & God is Love’.

They are calling on the president to withdraw his nomination or incur the wrath of the people.

Prior to the elections, the NPP accused President Mahama and his wife of being owners of the scandalous DKM and ‘God is Love’ microfinance companies. A claim which they have failed to substantiate.

Nana Akuffo Addo also promised to pay the DKM victims their due within his first 100 days, a promise he has woefully failed to fulfill.

The victims are therefore raging with anger and are mobilizing to have series of protests until Alexander Gyan’s nomination is withdrawn.

Some women are also threatening to embark on a naked demonstration to register their displeasure.
