I am disappointed in Akufo-Addo -MP

Deputy Majority Whip in Parliament, Ahmed Ibrahim has called on the leadership of New Patriotic Party (NPP) to call their flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo to order over what he describes as his ‘empty promises’.

This follows Nana Addo’s promise to construct industries in all the 216 districts in the country when elected President.

With at least four months to the 2016 general elections, Nana Akufo-Addo on the campaign trail promised to build one factory in each of the 216 districts.

He vowed to make industrialisation the cornerstone of his policy of economic transformation.

Government’s commissioning of the Komenda sugar factory in the Central region has not escaped criticism for what some including the opposition believe to be a poorly thought-out business model.

It is therefore expected that Akufo-Addo’s vision will be brought under scrutiny to determine its feasibility and whether or not it is merely a campaign promise.

His assertion has drawn widespread criticism from the populace who believes it is just mere political talk.

Speaking to Adom News, Ibrahim who is also the MP for Banda said the policy by Akufo-Addo was not well thought through.

On his part, the Member of Parliament for Ekumfi, Abeiku Crenstil says he is disappointed in Akufo-Addo that he has ignored his free Senior High School policy, adding that the NPP lacks campaign message.

But Minority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu sharply disagrees.

He indicated that the NPP had carefully done its feasibility studies and was convinced the factories could be built in each of the districts in the country.
