WE DEMAND RESPECT FOR WOMEN – Stranek Ladies

Women play essential roles in shaping society hence respect for women is one key factor a society cannot overlook. It is therefore disheartening to see women in public offices being disrespected left, right, centre and we Stranek Ladies seek to make this call to all Ghanaians to respect *our* women in public offices.

The case of the Montie 3 quickly comes to mind and as we condemn the attacks on the Chief Justice who is a woman, we congratulate the Supreme Court for acting swiftly.

We also congratulate Parliament for making Honourable Oti Bless apologize for his attack on the Chief Justice. We therefore *plead with* Parliament to demand same from Honourable Kennedy Agyapong who recently subjected the EC chairperson to total harangue with some unprintable words.

Honourable Kennedy Agyapong is particularly fond of attacking women with words that are not worth repeating and before his attack on the EC chairperson was an attack on Efia Schwarzenegger, a known female radio and TV presenter. The question is, is the honourable member beyond reproach? We believe that Parliament’s refusal to call Honourable Kennedy Agyapong to order is a major reason for his continues attack on women.

We hereby demand that women are shown the utmost respect we deserve in this country and people who ought to know better must not be treated with soft palm when they press the disrespect button on women especially those in public offices.

We once again thank the
Supreme court and parliament for taking a decision that will deter people from using unacceptable words on our women.

Thank you.

Signed………..
