CVM CONDEMNS THE CARELESS OPEN CHALLENGE TO PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO BY HON. ADWOA SARFO

The conduct of Hon. Adwoa Sarfo to challenge President Akufo-Addo in the media to purchase her father’s vehicles was very unprofessional and politically unwise, and CVM condemns it.

As a Procurement Minister at the Presidency, you should be mindful of your utterance as far as procurement issue is concerned.

Procurement Ministry is a very sensitive portfolio at the Presidency and it is not a platform to use to promote your father’s business. You were appointed as a Procurement Minister to only serve the interest of all Ghanaians and the NPP Government.

It is a very good move for the Government to purchase locally manufactured brand of vehicles but Hon. Adwoa Sarfo should carefully notes that, President Akufo-Addo has already placed a ban on the purchase of new vehicles indefinitely.

President Akufo-Addo has stated clearly that, the Capital expenditure used for purchasing of new vehicles shall be spend on improving the Productive Sector of the Economy because he strongly believes that, the Nation is living in extraordinary times. Therefore, your challenge to President Akufo-Addo to purchase your father’s vehicles in these extraordinary times is very reckless.

Be mindful that, Ghanaians has not forgotten about the Mahama’s Ford Expedition Gift.

Let us all support President Akufo-Addo to succeed and refrain from putting undue pressure on him to do things contrary to the ethics of good governance.
