Cuban Ambassador lauds President Mahama support

The Cuban Ambassador to Ghana, Pedro Luis Gonzalez, has lauded the support of President Mahama in calling for the lifting of the blockade on Cuba by the United States of America.

Speaking at a news conference in Accra, Ambassador Luis Gonzalez, said despite the restoration of Cuba-America diplomatic relations, re-opening of embassies over a year ago and the historic visit of President Obama to Cuba in March this year, the economic, financial and commercial sanctions placed on Cuba by the US remains in place.

This, he said, has led to Cuba losing more than seven hundred and fifty billion dollars over the years.
