Court to hear case against CJ’s today

A Special Appeal’s Court will begin hearing of all cases relating to the recent judicial corruption scandal today, September 25.

The court was set up by the Chief Justice after several agitations from some judges indicted in the scandal.

These judges had petitioned the court challenging the legality of a committee probing their alleged corrupt acts. They considered as wrong the procedure adopted by the Chief Justice to probe them.

This special court will be presided over by appeals court judge Justice Gertrude Torkonu.

Already 22 magistrates and judges have been suspended following the embarrassing expose’ by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas who is also pushing for the impeachment of all the judges caught on the corruption video.

Meanwhile, one of the most famous judges implicated in the scandal , Justice John Ajet- Nasem, has in a written statement, said Anas entrapped him with the supposed items and money with an intention of embarrassing him.
