The Greater Accra region has 34 seats currently. It previously had 27seats until the creation of new seats in 2012.

This has been the trend of parliamentary seats in the last three polls.

In 2004, the NPP won 16 out of the 27 seats while the remaining 11 went to the NDC.GhanaPoliticsOnline.Com

The NDC came back strongly to win 18 out of the 27 seats in the region leaving the remaining 9 for the NPP.

In 2012, the NDC added 2 seats to their tally to take it to 20 while the NPP added an impressive 5 seats to their tally to make it 14.

Out of 34 seats in the region currently, 22 of them can be said to be ‘safe’ seats of either the NDC or NPP while 12 of them can be said to be ‘unsafe’ seats. By ‘safe’ seat, I mean a margin of victory greater than 5000 votes as of the last election.

Out of the 22 safe seats the NDC has 13 & the NPP has 9 of them.

The safe seats of the NDC are :

1.Odododiodioo with margin of victory of 19,688votes.

2. Ada with a margin of victory of 17,925votes.

3.La Dade Kotopon with a margin of victory of 15,483votes.

4.Ashaiman with a margin of victory of 14,504votes.

5.Ayawaso East with a margin of victory of 12,760votes.

6.Shai Osudoku with a margin of victory of 11,008votes.

8.Ablekuma South with a margin of victory of 10,034 votes.

9.Kpone Katamanso with a margin of victory of 9,614votes.

10.Ayawaso North with a margin of victory of 8,196votes.

11.Amasaman with a margin of victory of 7,963votes.

12.Domeabra Obom with a margin of victory of 7,738votes.

13.Madina with a margin of victory of 6,596votes.

The safe seats of the NPP are:

1.Dome Kwabenya with a margin of victory of 28,007 votes.

2.Team Central with a margin of victory of 22,582 votes.

3.Anyaa Sowutuom with a margin of victory of 21,660 votes.

4.Ablekuma North with a margin of victory of 18,581 votes.

5.Trobu with a margin of victory of 18,560 votes.

6.Ablekuma West with a margin of victory of 10,822 votes.

7.Okaikwei South with a margin of victory of 9,831 votes.

8.Okaikwei Central with a margin of victory of 7,264 votes.

9.Weija Gbawe with a margin of victory of 5,962.

The ‘unsafe’ seats currently in hands of the NDC are:

1.Adenta with a margin of victory of 4,613 votes.

2.Ningo Prampram with a margin of victory of 4,056 votes.

3. Sege with a margin of victory of 3,119 votes.

4.Krowor with a margin of victory of 2,820 votes.

5.Ablekuma Central with a margin of victory of 1,401 votes.

6. Klottey Korle with a margin of victory of 1,275 votes.

7.Botianor Ngleshie Amanfrom with a margin of victory of 188 votes.

The ‘unsafe’ seats currently in the hands of the NPP are:

1. Okaikwei North with a margin of victory of 1,921 votes.

2. Ayawaso West Wuogon with a margin of victory of 1,691 votes.

3. Team West with a margin of victory of 945 votes.

4. Ayawaso Central with a margin of victory of 635 votes.

5. Tema East with the slightest & unsafest margin of victory of 3 votes.
