Communication gap: Lai Mohammed to meet columnists, online publishers, others

Determined to bridging the information gap between the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government and Nigerians, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has slated a series of meetings this week in continuation of his ongoing consultations with key stakeholders.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Special Adviser to the Minister of Information and Culture, Segun Adeyemi, said the meetings are geared towards carrying the stakeholders along in the formulation and implementation of policies by the federal government.

Adeyemi said, “the Minister will meet Newspaper Columnists on Thursday, January 21; Online Publishers on Friday, January 22; On Air Personalities (OAPs) on Saturday January 23 and Musicians from the six geo-political zones on Sunday, January 24.

“All the meetings will be held in Lagos.

“Since assuming office, the Minister has met Civil Society Organizations and representatives of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) and Radio, Television, Theatre Workers Union (RATTAWU), among.”
