Cocoa farmers in Fanteakwa to benefit from free cocoa seedlings

President John Mahama has asked Cocoa farmers in the Fanteakwa District of the Eastern Region to contact the Cocoa district office for new seedlings and inputs to replace the old cocoa trees.

The President however cautioned them not to pay for the seedlings and the inputs because government is providing them free of charge.

He said the move is to help farmers to produce healthier yields.

President Mahama was addressing a mini rally at Fanteakwa North. The people of Fanteakwa are predominantly cocoa farmers.

The President also announced plans to connect some twenty towns to the rural electrification project.

He also mentioned some critical roads to be constructed under the Cocoa roads programme.
