Chief Imam’s Office criticizes T. B. Joshua’s mode of delivering prophecy

The office of the National Chief Imam has criticized the attitude of the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations in Nigeria, Prophet TB Joshua, who declared that there will be terrorist attacks in Ghana and Nigeria between Thursdays and Saturdays this month.

Although the Office says it is not downplaying the revelation, the approach adopted by the prophet to announce the attack, which it believes has created fear and panic in the country.

Prophet TB Joshua had declared during a Church service, which was beamed live on Emmanuel TV on Sunday: “I see Thursday, Friday. Pray for these two nations – Nigeria and Ghana – over gathering in any way; over attack. I am seeing attack and that will be in a foreign way. The attack will come not in a local way. So please open your lips and pray for these two nations for protection.”

But the Administrator of the Chief Imam’s Office, Alhaji Adam Musa Abubakar told Onua FM’s Yen Sempa Tuesday that “there are elders and authorities in the country so Prophet T. B. Joshua should have [first] notified them”.

He explained, “announcing it through TV during a church service has created fear and panic in the country. I was in town yesterday and everyone is panicked over the issue”.

Alhaji Abubakar advised that “pastors should notify authorities such as the security services of such threats to avert fear and panic among the citizens”.

The Chief Imam’s administrator called on Muslims and Ghanaians to pray for the nation for God to avert such calamity.

“We always pray for Ghana. Chief Imam always prays for Ghana and we will not deny prophecy so we will continue praying for God’s power to protect the nation”.

Alhaji Abubakar said “all beliefs are not the same but the 96-years Chief Imam believes with prayer the prophecy may be averted”.
