Chelsea legend Didier Drogba pays Akufo-Addo surprise visit

Chelsea legend, and former captain of the Ivory Coast national football team, Didier Drogba has paid a courtesy call on President Nana Akufo-Addo at the Flagstaff.

The purpose of Drogba’s visit, largely kept from the media, is not yet known but President Akufo-Addo shared a photo on Friday captioned, “A few minutes ago, the Chelsea Legend, Didier Drogba, paid me a surprise visit at the Presidency”.

Drogba, a two-time African footballer of the year is popular for his time at Chelsea where he has had two spells where he became the club’s fourth highest goal scorer of all and the highest-scoring foreigner.

However, the President who is known to be a fan of Chelsea’s London rivals, Tottenham Hotspurs would likely be a fan of Drogba for his exploits for Ivory Coast rather than in England.
