NUGS, the National Union of Ghana Students’ emergency Congress to elect a representative at Africa Students Union (ASU) which is currently ongoing at the University of Development Studies (UDS), Navrongo has been halted by the Dean of students, Mr. Maxwell Jumbo.
Intelligence gathered from the school indicates the National Youth Organizer for the New Patriotic Party, Sammy Awuku ordered the Dean. Mr Maxwell Jumbo who is an NPP apparently sacked the the students from the campus in order to prevent the elections from taking place tonight.
The election is being contested by Mohammed Adams Sukparu, Innocent Badasu and Peter Kodjie. http://ghanapoliticsonline.com
The current Secretary General of AASU is Mr. Fred Awal.
Information indicates that Sammy Awuku believes his candidate being Peter Kwasi Kodji will lose the election, hence the decision to call the dean to order.
