I built my first 25-bedroom house at 22 – Wontumi

The Ashanti regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako has debunked claims that he made his money through shady deals.
According to Mr Boasiako, who is popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, he made made great strides even at a young age and is therefore not in politics for money.

“I built my first house at age 22, it was a 25-bedroom house. I have about 100 houses only in Kumasi…go to PMMC (Precious Minerals and Marketing Company) and check I used to get over 1million dollars a day, at 33 I assembled cars and named it after myself Wontumi,” he said on Accra-based Starr FM.

The NPP firebrand has often been tagged by some sections of Ghanaians as arrogant.
Others also believe that he has been able to gather enough wealth for himself through illegal means.

But the 40- year old business mogul has maintained that he is a very humble person who conducts his activities within the remit of the laws of the country.
He stressed that negative rumours about him are often from his opponents in the National Democratic Congress who are only interested in destroying his reputation.
