Bugri Naabu is a “disgrace” to NPP – Otiko

In What appears to be a degeneration of the feud between the Minister of Gender and the NPP Northern Regional Chairman, Otiko Afisa Djaba, says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will be better off, if Daniel Bugri Naabu is stripped of his position.

According to her, Mr Naabu’s conduct as the Regional Chairman brings disgrace to the party and it would be good riddance if the party decides to take his position.

The Northern Regional Chairman in the company of some party sympathisers, last Friday disrupted a meeting being organised by the Gender Minister in Tamale.

He accused her of disrespecting his authority and plotting to undermine the Presidents’ nominee to head the school feeding programme in the region.

“I have told the Minister point blank what she did was wrong. It is unconstitutional and therefore her meeting is illegal,” Mr Naabu announced to some applause of those accompanying him.

Expressing her disappointment in Mr Naabu’s behaviour on Joy News on Monday, Ms Djaba hinted that she would petition the party’s leadership to bring him [Naabu] to order.

“I’m very disappointed in Bugri’s behaviour and ashamed on behalf of the party. I will write a letter [to the party] about it. This is not the animal kingdom, “it will not be right for me, as the [NPP] Women Organiser, gender activist and the Minister for Gender to be treated with such contempt, especially by a chairman who ought to know better”. She said

Otiko Djaba continued that it would be her wish to have Mr Naabu’s stripped of his position because “ he’s been bullying people in the region and bulldozing his way. All he really thinks is about himself”.
