BOSTGATE: Edwina reaping Akufo-Addo’s sins – Sam George

Edwina Akufo-Addo’s alleged involvement in the scandal that hit the Bulk Oil Storage and Transport (BOST) is the outcome of years of lies said against former President John Mahama by her father president Akufo-Addo, according to the MP for Ningo Prampram.

Sam George’s comments come in the wake of a rejoinder issued by Ms Akufo-Addo rejecting claims that she deeply featured in the sale of contaminated fuel by BOST.

The MD for BOST in recent times has been under heavy criticism following expose’ that he sanctioned the sale of 5million litres of contaminated fuel to Movenpiina, an unlicensed company operating in the country and Ms Akufo-Addo is said to have actively participated in the transactions.

Denying the allegations in the rejoinder, she said “I am fully aware that this fabrication is not about me. It is said that “when the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser”. This is, yet, another example of the NDC trying to tarnish the image of my father, the President of the Republic.

“They have, since 2008, tried without success, and one would have hoped that they would have learnt their lessons by sticking to the facts and telling the truth, rather than propagating falsehoods.”

But in his reaction, the Ningo Prampram NDC lawmaker said she is only suffering from the sins of her father.

“The Bible says the sins of the father will be visited on the children and the grandchildren, even up to the fourth generation, and so her father has sowed seeds that she’s reaping.

“I’m not saying it is the right thing, but if you come from a home where your father has been the rumour monger-in-chief you [do] not want to cry foul. She just has to grow tough skin and prepare for these things because she’s just harvesting from the tree that her father planted,” the former presidential staffer stated on Accra-based Class FM.
