BNI storms Vanderpuije’s home in search of stolen cars

The Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) and National Security Officers on Tuesday stormed the private residence of the former Youth and Sports Minister Nii Lantey Vanderpuije in search of alleged stolen state vehicles.

The security operatives, who were led by the NPP’s Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organiser Kwame Baffoe, besieged the home of the Ododoiodoo MP’s Aplaku residence near Weija in the afternoon.

Reports say Mr Vanderpuije was not at home at the time of the incident.

He told the media that: “No youth have attacked me but the people who say they are from BNI and National Security and Confiscated Car Committee were in my house, they said they were coming to pick government vehicles from my house.”

“I am not in Ghana so they are harassing my wife and children. For now they have not had access to my house. My wife said she will not open for them to enter because they have no warrant. My children are from school coming to the house but she can’t open the gates for the children to enter because if she opens the gate the people will enter the house.”
Kwame Baffoe , who is also known as Abronye DC has been leading an Assets Retrieval task force set up by the presidency to retrieve allegedly stolen state cars from former government officials.
