Blows at Hajj village over dismissal of Deputy Communications Director

A Deputy Communications Director of the National Hajj Board, Hajia Mariam Cissey engaged a colleague in a serious fight over her dismissal on Tuesday at the Hajj village in Accra.

A livid Mariam whose appointment earlier faced fierce resistance from other officials of the National Hajj Board was relieved of her duties after it was established that she had openly shown gross disrespect to Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and wife Samira Bawumia.

Subsequently, Communications Director A R Gomda reportedly wrote revoking her appointmen;t a development that has not gone down well with her.

As a result, she stormed the Hajj Village on Tuesday July 11, 2017 and engaged in a fierce fight with other officials over the matter.

This however comes in less than a month when pilgrims are supposed to be airlifted to the Holy Land of Mecca.

Last month , a press statement signed by the Chairman of the National Hajj Board, Sheikh I.C. Quaye indicated committee which had been set up to investigate the alleged conduct of Hajia Mariam Cissey and must within two weeks submit its report for appropriate action to be taken by the board.
