Black Stars ready to accept any amount as winning bonus

The Black Stars of Ghana are ready to accept any amount offered by the Ministry of Youth and Sports as winning bonus during the Africa Cup of Nations(AFCON) currently underway in Gabon.

The players according to Spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association(GFA) Saani Daara, are not ready to negotiate winning bonus with management but would accept any amount offered them.

Issues of winning bonus of the Black Stars have become a very delicate issue following the slashing of the amount from $10,000 to $8,000 by former Minister of Youth and Sports, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye.

But it seems that the players are not satisfied with the $8000 or any amount that the sector ministry would come out with.

”The players have told us that they will take any amount that the nation is willing pay them as their bonus money. They met the management committee and told them this,” Saani Daara has said.

”They want to send a signal to the Ghanaian public that they are not playing because of the money and hence this decision. Whatever Ghana can pay, they will take it, ‘he added.

Ghana would play their first game in the AFCON against Uganda and would be hoping to begin the competition on a bright note with a win.
