Bawumia is Truly Chilling in London; Gabby Otchere-Darko was right! (Video)

The Vice-president, Dr Mahmoud Bawumia is truly chilling in London as announced by Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, a cousin and confidant of the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo.

Legal practitioner Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko dispelled rumours that Ghana’s Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is in a hospital in the United Kingdom (UK).

In a Facebook post, Mr Otchere-Darko said that he visited Dr Bawumia at his rented flat in London and not in a hospital as speculated. He added that Dr Bawumia is fine.

“I am told Guys Hospital staff are very unhappy. Many Ghanaians trooping there asking to see a patient they’d never heard of – not even his picture rings any visual bells – don’t believe what you read in NDC ‘news’.”

“Well, I’m in London and have had opportunities to spend some good, jovial and intellectual sweet moments with Dr Bawumia but far from the view of any nurse or doctor; in some small, decent flat he has rented for the very short time he is away here on leave. My mistake was to attempt to tease him about his team, Tottenham Hotspurs. I wish I hadn’t!” he added.

Dr Bawumia went to the UK on Friday (January 19, 2018) for a better medical check-up after he reported ill at work.

In an earlier statement issued by the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin said the Vice President “reported feeling unwell…in the early hours of Friday.”

He later returned home from the Flagstaff House before leaving for the UK.

“He was attended to by his doctors and is currently undergoing medical tests and observation. Any further information will be duly communicated,” the statement added.

A statement signed by the Chief Of Staff, Frema Opare on Saturday said he was flown to the UK on the advice of his doctors.

“He was accompanied by the Second lady Hajia Samira Bawumia,” the statement added.

The Minister of Information, Mustapha Hamid later stated that Dr Bawumia left to the United Kingdom because doctors advised him to have absolute rest for some days.

“The purpose of his trip was to have a complete rest… where you don’t have many people like friends and so on, worrying him.”
