Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has appealed to members of the National Democratic Congress to avoid the ‘skirt and blouse’ pattern of voting come November when Ghana goes to the polls.
According to him, it is essential for members of the party to vote for the President and their respective members of parliament in order to see proper development in their communities.Ghanapoliticsonline.com
Speaking at Adansi Asokwa in the Ashanti region, the former governor of the Central Bank urged the people to vote against their incumbent MP KT Hammond in the upcoming elections and rather elect the NDC’s candidate Evans Amankwah.
“…But Adansi Asokwa, you vote for a president from one side and an MP from another side who cannot even go to the Flagstaff House. As for this year, you should vote for someone who can boldly walk to the Flagstaff House and deliberate on matters of your development with the president. That is what will bring much more development to this area than you are currently witnessing.
“In the quest to bring development, the people must be on board to help us deliver progress to your town therefore if we had a member of parliament who would think about this place, together with the president, that would be of immense benefit to you,” the Vice President stated.
He maintained that it is prudent to vote for an MP who will have the ears of the President and could visit the Presidency to push for development of his people.
