Atebubu Violence: “We will not interfere with Police Investigation” -NDC

The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) says it will not interfere in the ongoing investigations about last Tuesday clashes that led to the setting ablaze of the party office at the Atebubu in the Brong Ahafo Region.

Scores of people sustained several injuries when some irate youth of the party in Atebubu went on rampage, vandalized and burnt the constituency office of the party.http://ghanapoliticsonline.com

The violence resulted following the removal from office of the District Chief Executive of the area, Sampson Owusu-Boateng, which the youth believed was unfair.

The Police in the Brong Ahafo Region have arrested three persons in connection with the violence and are hunting for more including the former DCE who has been accused of allegedly inciting the clashes.

Deputy National Youth Organizer of NDC in the region, Fonu Kpatakpah, tells Gold News the NDC party is treating the case as criminal one.

He therefore, condemned the act which he described as alien to the umbrella party.http://ghanapoliticsonline.com

Fonu Kpatakpah further assured that the NDC will allow the perpetrators of the violence to face the full rigors of the law, adding that it will not interfere with police investigations.
